To condemn them to eternal punishment because they're - in the opinion of the Christian - wrong about theology. But when confronted about this awful, hateful will-to-death, the Christian invariably says that they hate the sin by lover the sinner.

But they're still going to Hell.

I don't think hatred is bad. I hate a lot of things, not just Strobel, but cancer, war, etc. It is not whether we hate or not, but why, and to what ends.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13363174213866492800noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-544940998646597297.post-90348021277445252692018-02-11T02:45:27.340-08:002018-02-11T02:45:27.340-08:00Sure a lot of ad hominems in the post..."filt...Sure a lot of ad hominems in the post..."filthy liar", etc. etc.

Your "vocal atheism" sounds a lot like old fashioned Hating.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-544940998646597297.post-19887805205006756082017-12-22T11:45:27.576-08:002017-12-22T11:45:27.576-08:00Many good points in the comments! For he was only in the grave the night of the Jewish sabbath, (for their sabbath began at the evening before), and the night following, which were but two nights, either in whole or in part.

Answer: What we call day and night made up the Jewish nucyhmeron. It appears by Genesis 1:5, that the evening and the morning made up a day. Three days and three nights is with us but the same thing with three natural days, and so it must be understood here. Christ was in the grave three natural days, that is, part of three natural days; every one of which days contained a day and a night, viz. twenty-four hours.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-544940998646597297.post-77564880869393603722015-01-22T18:38:44.216-08:002015-01-22T18:38:44.216-08:00I find Christians droll when they quote passages i...I find Christians droll when they quote passages in the Bible as proof that Jesus existed, or was the messiah, rose from the dead etc. Who can prove that Jesus rode the donkey for instance. No peripherl proof exists for many of the claims made, but, one passage in the Bible would tend to prove that Jesus was not the messiah--reade Matthew 12:40, when he claims that a future event will prove that he was, namely that he would be in the ground for three days and three nights. He went into the tomb Friday afternoon/evening and sometime before daybreak Sunday he was found not to be in the tomb. That, by my count, is one day and two nights. That means he spouted a false prophecy, which a true prophet would not make. I rest my case. The differences in the 4 gospels is do to the author & the audience. Each was written to inform their respective audiences. So that shoot's a big hole in your "Bible is contradictory" THEORY.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-544940998646597297.post-57179506086401354582011-03-31T11:50:43.016-07:002011-03-31T11:50:43.016-07:00Actually, you are incorrect. The talmud, one of the Jews most sacred books, valued more than the Old Testament, excoriates Him and His mother in a vicious and rabid manner. In fact, I doubt there is to be found in any other book, such a vile dismissal of Jesus. The talmud doesn't even make mention of the Buddha, or Allah. And those religions are not fixated on Him, like the talmud, bordering on a near psychotic obssesiveness with making certain that He is vilified properly. And, for some reason, I decided to read one of your blogs. So, after reading 1 blog and watching 1 video, you haven't given me any reason to think God doesn't exist and Jesus Christ is a historical myth:

1. How you argue against Genesis is quite laughable. You presuppose how to interpret literature that was written 3500 years ago.

2. You know Strobel is an apologist which is trying to defend the belief that Jesus Christ indeed lived, died, and resurrected as the Gospels describe. On the other hand, you are an atheist who doesn't believe in God at all, probably because of science. So, since you claim Strobel is dishonest because his conclusions are from white, evangelical theistic men you better prove to me why you're response is truthful. So, you need to find people of all races, sexes, and religions who have the same conclusion about Stroble and his book; otherwise, YOU are dishonest and your review of his book is worthless.

3. If you're wanting "honesty" in historical, social, theological, scientific, cultural, and literary conclusions about the origin, meaning, morality, and destiny of carbon-based life, you should agree with the fundamental premise of the Discovery Institute and support it, because it simply wants all possible explanations to be put on the educational table.

4. If you're going to deny the history, literature, theology, and philosophy of the Bible, you better learn how to read its history, literature, theology, and philosophy. Clearly, you don't understand how to do this. The evidence is in your assessment of Genesis on your video and your denial that the Gospels don't agree on this post. Your example of the differing geneologies doesn't make them false. If you examined the context of culture and the context of situation through these two geneologies, you would discover a justifiable reason for their differences. It's painfully obvious in the text.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-544940998646597297.post-18636736432974063152009-07-12T22:23:51.052-07:002009-07-12T22:23:51.052-07:00I am writing this post to all atheists who have a ...I am writing this post to all atheists who have a vested interest in debunking the myth of Jesus Christ. A number of fundamentalist Christian blogs have come out swinging against a new book by Stephan Huller called the Real Messiah. The most recent being:

http://atheistwatch.blogspot.com/

But there are many others. The only allies he seems to have on the web are a bunch of Jewish bloggers who like him because his mother was a Frankist (see wikipedia for more about this sect).

In any event Huller's book presents evidence that a two thousand year old throne in Venice proves that Jesus was not and never claimed to be the messiah.

Huller is going to appear on CNN in two weeks as part of his promotion of the book. As a big fan of his work I wanted to alert my fellow bloggers about this interview and have as many of us who have read the book to direct questions which challenge the existence of God and the whole Christian-fascist paradigm.

If you are interested in getting more information about his appearance please contact me at mastersonstuart@yahoo.com. If you haven't read the book here is a blog posting to familiarize yourself with his basic points when you do the phone in show:

http://therealmessiahbook.blogspot.com

Thanks again

Stuartstuarthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03085703513573209528noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-544940998646597297.post-59894842837909984452009-07-08T20:38:13.772-07:002009-07-08T20:38:13.772-07:00Part of the problem is that we all have a bias and...Part of the problem is that we all have a bias and we can always find support for it no matter which side you are on. But I suspect some of them also know inside that the arguments are dishonest, and yet support them anyway because they think others will be convinced, and they want to see religion prevail by whatever means are necessary. That is, they are knowingly embracing dishonesty for the sake of a "higher good".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-544940998646597297.post-65848217939241844992009-01-17T17:31:00.000-08:002009-01-17T17:31:00.000-08:00The justifications get more desperate and delusion...The justifications get more desperate and delusional every year.
